Name
growth factor-inducible immediate early gene nur/77-like receptor
Symbol
Nur77
NR4A1
OverviewNur77 is a growth factor-inducible member of the Nur77/NGFI-B subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. Like other Nurr77/NGFI-B subfamily members, its expression is induced in response to various stress stimuli and growth factors. Nur77 is involved in mediating apoptotic signaling in thymocytes and tumor cells, and plays a role in signaling in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. ExpressionNur77 is expressed at low to moderate levels in tissues in all major physiological systems (central nervous system (CNS), endocrine, metabolic, gastrointestinal, immune, reproductive, cardiovascular, respiratory and structural), with peaks of expression in the aorta, adrenal gland, olfactory bulb, testes, lung and skeletal muscle. View full NURSA Nur77 expression dataset PhenotypesTargeted deletion (knockout) of Nur77 results in disruption of behavior & neurological function, the immune system, the liver and biliary system, as well as in tumorigenesis.
