HNF4-γ

Browse nuclear receptors

Name
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 receptor γ
Symbol
HNF4-γ
NRNC Symbol
NR2A2

Overview

HNF4γ is a member of the HNF4 orphan subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily. It has been shown to constitutively bind fatty acids.

Expression

HNF4γ is almost exclusively expressed in the gastrointestinal system (duodenum, jejunum, ileum, colon), liver and kidney, with lower levels in the gall bladder, kidney, skin, central nervous system (CNS) and endocrine system (adrenal gland, thyroid and pancreas).

Phenotypes

Targeted disruption (knockout) of HNF4γ results in defects in behavior, homeostasis and metabolism, and growth and development.
