Overview

RevErb-β, along with RevErb-α, is a member of the orphan RevErb subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. Both members of this family are widely expressed during development and adult life, indicating broad roles in cell proliferation and physiology.

Expression

RevErb-β is expressed at low to moderate levels in most physiological systems, including the endocrine system, gastrointestinal system, reproductive system, cardiopulmonary system and metabolic tissues, with particularly high expression levels in the central nervous system (CNS), including the hypothalamus, spinal cord, olfactory bulb, corpus striatum, cerebrum and cerebellum.
