Name
Rev-Erb α
Symbol
REV-ERB-α
NR1D1
OverviewRevErb-α, along with RevErb-β, is a member of the orphan RevErb subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. Both members of this family are widely expressed during development and adult life, indicating broad roles in cell proliferation and physiology. ExpressionRevErb-α is expressed at low to moderate levels in most physiological systems, including the central nervous system (CNS), endocrine system, gastrointestinal system, reproductive system, cardiopulmonary system and metabolic tissues, with elevated expression in testis and skeletal muscle. View full NURSA RevErb-α expression dataset PhenotypesTargeted disruption of the RevErbA-α gene leads to defects in cerebellar development and control of the circadian cycle.
