Description

Leukotrienes are biologically active lipid mediators known to be involved in allergic inflammation. Leukotriene B4 is an agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPARα), a member of the PPAR subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. It has been implicated in the trafficking of monocytes to sites of inflammation, such as those occurring in transplant rejection and atherosclerosis.
