Description
GW501516 is a potent and selective agonist for PPARδ, a member of the PPAR subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily of transcription factors. In macrophages and intestinal cells it increases expression of the reverse cholesterol transporter ABCA1, and it has been shown to raise HDLs and lower LDLs, fasting triglycerides and fasting insulin in primates.
