Name
Positive elongation factor b
Symbol
P-TEFb
PITALRE/CDK9, a CDC2-related protein kinase which targets RNA polymerase II, is a subunit of the general elongation factor P-TEFb. It has been shown to interact with the androgen receptor (AR), and a kinase-defective form of PITALRE inhibits AR-mediated transcription.
