Name
Ligand-dependent nuclear receptor corepressor
Symbol
LCoR

Overview

LCoR was identified in a yeast two-hybrid screen using the LBD of estrogen receptor-α (ERα). It was characterized as a corepressor recruited to agonist-bound nuclear receptors through a canonical NR box (LXXLL motif).

Expression

LCoR is broadly expressed at varying levels in human adult and fetal tissues, with highest expression in placenta, the cerebellum, and corpus callosum of the brain, adult kidney and a number of fetal tissues.
